Survey, installation, service and repair available in Huddersfield, Leeds, Wakefield – The Yorkshire region

The Flow boiler heats your home efficiently and reliably – and generates electricity at the same time.
This electricity is valuable. And the value of this electricity effectively allows the Flow boiler to pay for itself, so you don’t have to.

Is the Flow boiler right for you?

Just so you know, the launch version of the Flow boiler is an 18kW microCHP (electricity-generating) boiler that requires a separate hot water tank. Just to be clear, it isn’t a combi. If you’re interested in
a combi then we will be launching a combi version in the future.

The Metro eco surveyor will assess whether the Flow boiler is right for your home.

Deals & Packages

We have two packages. One returns the cost of the Flow boiler to you over five years in reduced home energy bills. The other helps you avoid the cost of the Flow boiler completely.

Both our packages essentially allow the Flow boiler to pay for itself.

We’ve avoided using sales or marketing language, because we think the Flow boiler speaks for itself.

The most important thing you need to know is that…

*Provided by our trusted finance partner, Zopa.
**Which you can pay for with a personal loan or with your own money.

Here’s exactly how it works

Choose your package

First, we’ll assess whether the Flow boiler is right for your home. If it is, then we’ll ask you to choose your package – Flow Finance or Flow Freedom.

Flow Finance

Flow Finance allows you to borrow the cost of a Flow boiler with our trusted finance partner, Zopa, as a personal loan. It means you can avoid its upfront cost. You do have to pay for competitively-priced installation as well, but you could be able to add that to your loan too. The Flow boiler costs £3,675, excluding installation. The total cost of Zopa’s finance package for the boiler itself is £4,529.89 with an APR of 8.9%.*

Flow Freedom

Or you can simply pay for the Flow boiler, as you would any other boiler – at a cost of £3,675. This is our Flow Freedom package. Again, you’ll need to pay for installation.

Whichever package you choose, we’ll reduce your home energy bills over five years by £4,800.

How does this work?

Well, once your Flow boiler is installed, we’ll reduce your home energy bill by £80 a month as explained in the next section. That works out at a reduction of £960 a year, and we’ll deliver that reduction every year for five years. After five years, the total reduction in your home energy bill will equal £4,800. As a reminder, the Flow boiler costs £3,675 if you buy it under the Flow Freedom package, or the personal loan you take out under the Flow Finance package costs a total of £4,529.89* – so both packages represent a great deal.

* Cost of financing the Flow boiler only: A loan of £3,675 over 5 years will cost you £75.5 per month. The APR is 8.9%. The total cost after 5 years is £4,529.89, which includes £674.89 interest at 6.7% fixed and a £180 fee. The total amount of credit is £3,855. This is a representative example and doesn’t include installation.

And what do you need to do to get this incredible deal?

Switch your home energy to Flow and assign the Feed-in Tariff to us for five years.

It’s simple. You just need to switch your home energy to Flow on a competitive tariff – we’ll help you with that. And you need to assign Feed-in Tariff payments to us as well (don’t worry, it’s a simple process and we’ll help you here too). Your home energy prices will be fixed until the end of March 2016. We’ll then offer you another competitive energy deal with a Price Promise – that we’ll always aim to be cheaper than the average of the standard variable tariffs from the Big 6 for the full five years of our agreement.

You might be wondering how we can offer this deal.

Quite simply, it’s because we have a completely unique proposition. Because your boiler is generating electricity, we don’t have to buy so much to supply you with, so we make a saving there. Then we also benefit from the Feed-in Tariff – a government scheme to reduce carbon emissions. Add these together and they allow us to reduce your home energy bill – which effectively pays for your boiler.

There’s another reason too – we’ve spent 10 years developing the Flow boiler. So we wanted to celebrate its launch with a very special deal.

And what happens after five years?
Well, your energy bills will continue to be significantly reduced.

We’ll deliver a £960 reduction in your home energy bill every year for the first five years, as long as you stay with Flow for your home energy and continue to assign the Feed-in Tariff to us. Please note that we’ll deliver this reduction irrespective of how much electricity your Flow boiler actually generates.

At the end of the five years, you’ll continue to see reductions in your home energy bills based on
the amount of electricity your boiler actually generates (how much benefit you could see depends on the type and size of your house, how much gas you use and how you run your boiler. We’ll create a personalised prediction for you).

So after your Flow boiler has effectively paid for itself, you’ll continue to earn from your Flow boiler for years to come.

Zopa Innovative finance

A personal loan for our ground-breaking boiler is available through our trusted partner, Zopa. We work with companies who have an innovative approach, like Flow. Zopa is the pioneer of peer-to-peer lending, which uses the internet to cut out the banks entirely. Zopa matches individual lenders with people who want to borrow, leaving out the mainstream banks and offering better rates all round.

They’ve lent £720 million and helped both borrowers and lenders get great rates. From 2010 – 2015 they were voted the most trusted loan provider by customers in the Moneywise Customer Service awards. We’re proud of our partnership and believe Zopa are the future of finance – just like the Flow boiler is the future of home heating and home energy.

We will need to survey your property to establish the installation cost. You will need to take gas and electricity supply on Flow Energy’s Together tariff and nominate Flow Energy as the recipient of the Feed-in Tariff. The rebate will be a reduction to your energy account and therefore give a lower monthly Direct Debit payment; there is no cash alternative. You will be responsible for making finance repayments to Zopa. Offer only available to customers over the age of 20 living in Great Britain.

If you:

i. change your energy supplier from Flow Energy;

ii. no longer nominate Flow Energy as the recipient of the feed-in tariffs;

iii. fail to pay for your gas and/or electricity;

iv. replace your Flow Boiler;

v. move home; or

vi. do not provide monthly meter reading

The obligation to pay the Rebate will immediately cease.

Home energy with Flow

Great prices. And a promise.

To enjoy the benefits of the Flow Freedom and Flow Finance packages you’ll need to switch your home energy to Flow for five years, on our Together tariff. Or, if you’re already a Flow energy customer and you want a boiler, you’ll need to switch over to our Together tariff for five years.

We’ll fix your home energy prices until 31st March 2016.
We’ll then offer you another competitive deal. We’ll keep doing this until the end of the five years.

Price promise

At Flow, we’ve built a reputation for providing competitive home energy prices. We launched to the energy market in 2013 with the lowest fixed rate deal on the market at the time – and we haven’t raised our prices since. Not once. 30,000 customers already trust us to provide great prices on home energy. And you can too.

But we don’t want to survive on reputation alone. We want to make you a promise on price.
So we’ll always aim to be cheaper than the average of the Big 6 standard variable tariffs.

It’s part of our commitment to provide you with a world-beating service.

Warranty – complete peace of mind

The Flow boiler is made up of two parts: the boiler itself, which heats your home and water, and the electricity generating power module housed inside the boiler.

The Flow boiler itself comes with a two year manufacturer’s warranty which includes parts and labour. So in the unlikely event of anything going wrong with your Flow boiler, our engineers will be round in a flash to put it right.

The electricity-generating power module comes with the same two year initial warranty. However, this warranty continues for up to 10 years if you continue to stay with Flow for your home energy. That’s a thank you from us to you – as is your first year service, which is included.

So you can be sure that your Flow boiler will keep you warm, keep on generating and keep on earning you money for years
to come.

Your home survey

It’s really important that we know that the Flow boiler is right for your home.
It means we get a happy customer and you get a nice warm house.

So, as you know, we’re sending one of our skilled and friendly engineers to find out.

Frequently asked questions

The Flow boiler is a ground-breaking product wrapped up in a revolutionary deal. So you’re bound to have questions.

We’re pretty confident we’ve answered the key ones below. But if you have any others, please do let us know.

How much electricity will my Flow boiler generate?

Your Flow boiler can generate up to 2000 kWh of electricity a year. However, it depends on how much gas you use, what kind of house you live in, how you use your boiler and several other factors. We’ll be able to provide you with a personalised projection after we’ve completed your home survey.

Is the Flow boiler suitable for all homes?

The launch version of the Flow boiler is suitable for 3-5 bedroom homes and it requires a separate hot water tank (ie/ it isn’t a combi). But don’t worry if it isn’t suitable for you now, we’re launching a combi version in 2016 which will be suitable for larger and smaller homes.

How do I get a Flow boiler?

First you need to answer some quick suitability questions to see if the Flow boiler is right for you. Then one of our engineers will conduct a home survey to make 100% sure. If it is, then we’ll ask you to choose your package, we’ll book an install date and away we go!

How much does the Flow boiler cost?

The Flow boiler costs £3,675, excluding installation. But remember – sign up for our Flow Freedom or Flow Finance deals and we’ll reduce your home energy bills by £4,800 over five years.

How much does installation cost?

Every installation is different and we’ll quote you a personalised figure once we’ve surveyed your home.

How much will the Flow boiler save me?

Pay for the Flow boiler with a personal loan from Zopa under our Flow Finance deal and we’ll reduce your home energy bills by £4,800 over five years. The total cost of the loan from Zopa for the boiler (excluding installation) over five years will be £4,529.89 (see page 5). So you’ll effectively avoid the cost of a boiler.

Sign up for Flow Freedom and pay for the boiler and we’ll reduce your home energy bills by the same £4,800 over five years – which, again, means you’ll effectively avoid the cost of a new boiler.

But that’s not all. After five years, when the Flow boiler has paid for itself, you’ll continue to save money on your bills because you can use the electricity the Flow boiler generates in your home. And you’ll start to receive Feed-in Tariff payments too. After five years the annual benefit from your Flow boiler could be significant.

This sounds too good to be true. How can you pay me back the cost of the boiler?

You might be wondering how we can offer this deal. Quite simply, it’s because we have a completely unique proposition. Because your boiler is generating electricity, we don’t have to buy so much to supply you with, so we make a saving there. Then we also benefit from the Feed-in Tariff – a government scheme to reduce carbon emissions. Add these together and they allow us to reduce your home energy bill – which in turn means that we pay for your boiler.

There’s another reason too – we’ve spent 10 years developing the Flow boiler. So we wanted to celebrate its launch with a very special deal.

What warranty does my boiler come with?

The Flow boiler is made up of two parts – the boiler itself, which provides heat for your home, and the patented power module housed inside the boiler, that generates electricity.

The boiler part has a two year manufacturer’s warranty which includes parts and labour. The power module also has a two year warranty although this warranty continues for up to 10 years if you continue to stay with Flow for your home energy.

Your first year service is included. So we’ll be able to offer you both a ground-breaking boiler and complete peace of mind.

Who makes the Flow boiler? And who installs and services it?

The Flow boiler is manufactured in a dedicated facility in Livingston, Scotland by Jabil Circuit. Jabil is a huge global company that has forged its reputation for the highest quality manufacturing by making products for some of the world’s biggest brands. Jabil is a multi-billion pound company with a long history of manufacturing excellence. We’re proud that they’re

making our game-changing boiler – and in the UK too.
Your Flow boiler will be installed and serviced by an accredited Flow engineer. All our engineers go through a rigorous training programme and they are the world experts on fitting and maintaining the Flow boiler. We can guarantee you’ll be in good hands.

Who are Flow?

We’re a ground-breaking, award-winning energy technology company with a research and development facility in Capenhurst, near Chester, an installer training centre in Preston Brook, Cheshire, and a home energy business in sunny, maritime Ipswich.
We’ve been around since 1998 and we launched on the stock market in 2006. We employ over 150 people and have over 30,000 existing customers, who we supply home energy to (and very happy they are too).

We’re a friendly and approachable company with a grand vision – we want to change the way people think about energy, helping every household in the UK (and beyond) generate their own low cost, low carbon electricity. We’d love to have you as a customer.

How does the Flow boiler generate electricity?

The Flow boiler is what’s called a microCHP boiler. The CHP bit stands for Combined Heat and Power. There are a few different kinds of microCHP technology but we use the Organic Rankine Cycle.

There are two parts to the Flow boiler – the heat-producing boiler itself and the electricity-generating power module, housed inside the boiler.

So, natural gas or LPG burns in the combustion chamber, just as it does in a standard boiler.
But instead of directly heating water, it heats up a fluid in the power module. This fluid evaporates and the resulting vapour moves through a scroll expander, which acts like a mini dynamo to generate electricity, which can be used in your home or exported. Once the vapour has moved through the scroll it condenses in a small heat exchanger to heat the water for your heating system and hot water. Then the whole process starts again.

How do I know Flow’s home energy prices will stay competitive?

We’ve built a reputation for fantastic home energy prices. When we launched our home energy business in 2013 we offered the cheapest fixed rate home energy deal anywhere in the UK. Since then we haven’t raised our prices. That’s right, not once! When you switch your home energy to Flow, we’ll fix your prices until March 2016. Then we’ll offer you another competitive deal every year. To make sure you know our deals will always be competitive, we have a Price Promise – that we’ll always aim to be cheaper than an average of the Big 6 standard variable tariffs. We’ve built our reputation on great prices and fantastic customer service and we want to keep it that way.

Will the Flow boiler use more gas than my existing boiler?

This depends. If you’re replacing an old boiler, then your old boiler is probably quite inefficient, which means it will use quite a lot of gas. Since the Flow boiler is really efficient, it will use less gas than an older boiler.

However, the Flow boiler does use a bit more gas than a new, standard boiler. That’s because it burns a bit more relatively cheap gas to generate high value electricity. If you’re replacing a relatively new condensing boiler with a Flow boiler then you might expect to use about £50 more on gas every year. Although, of course, Flow’s deals mean that hardly matters, since you’ll be receiving back the entire cost of the boiler over five years and then benefiting from significant reductions in your home energy bills long term.

You’re asking me to sign a five year agreement. What happens if I move home?

Your boiler is a significant asset because it generates electricity. This is even more true if you’re still in the first five years of our agreement, when you are receiving a monthly rebate of £80 on your energy bill.

We suggest that you sell the boiler as an asset to the person buying your house, either as a standalone item or included in a slightly increased sale price for your home. Then, if you are still in the first five years of your agreement your buyer can choose to come with Flow for their home energy and receive the monthly rebate. Or they can choose any supplier they like and simply benefit directly from the generation and the FiT based on the amount of electricity their boiler generates.

Either way, they will be receiving a significant benefit from their Flow boiler so should be happy to pay for it. If you’re on the Flow Finance package, you would then use the money your buyer pays for the boiler to pay off the remaining part of the loan.

Can I move energy supplier or am I locked in for five years?

Of course you can, please visit the website at this address: www.flowenergy.uk.com/terms conditions Or ask a member of the team and they’ll be happy to send you a copy.
